S-Line for ANST Joint Venture Project Kicked off

     The S-Line of Anst built for the transferred products in the joint venture project kicked off on October 28, which is based on the technology document transfer, process equipment transfer, workshop power reconstruction, personnel training and system audit completed in prophase. It is a special production line which roundly shows the technology control and system management operation mode of STATS ChipPAC by keeping compliant with what required in STATS ChipPAC on chips, equipments, processes, material and personnel under the requirement of oversea customers transfer. The quality experimental lot of all the transferred products in the joint venture project would be put into production on this line ever since, and the formal assessment on the transferred products would be made in about two months.

     At about 3pm on September 1st, the process engineers and operators of molding area of S-Line were doing quality experimental lot with fake chips on the special equipments for a transferred product. It was found that inconspicuous protuberant points continuously appeared on the surface of one product while the process and QC clerk of the STATS ChipPAC were observing the appearance of each product in the tool carefully. They immediately closed the attrited slot, after getting the reason that there was an abrasion on the tool via careful checking and researching, and the following lot were totally qualified for the quality requirement. Three qual lots successfully passed the molding process and were put before the oven for post curing.

     It was on the same day, 4pm, it was found that gold balls for wire bonding appeared to be abnormal while the engineers and operators both of STATS ChipPAC and ANST were doing the qual experiment lot with fake chips for a transferred product. As it's a little difficult to find out where the problem was to solve with it, Engineers of STATS ChipPAC and ANST cooperated with each other and finally got the answer. The qual lots of two products have finished their running on the line and carried to STATS ChipPAC for final checking so far.

     While making sure the quality experimental lots for the transferred products run well on the line, Anst tries to run other products on the S-Line to catch up with its partner's process specification and quality standard and so on, as well as to syncretize the technology control and system management operation mode between STATS ChipPAC and Anst, as our final purpose of the project is to absorb our partner's merits on the management and technology.
